We examine features relevant for the phenomenological analysis of highly inelastic reactions. The first part of the thesis deals with inclusive spectra. The purpose is to obtain a better understanding of general features of the spectra and to test the approximations of existing calculations. Some attention is given to the problem of representing the new type of data. We present many details of the one and two-particle spectra and the two-particle correlation function. Of special significance might be the transverse momentum dependence of the one-particle spectrum and the short range structure in the correlation function in the longitudinal rapidities. The second part of the thesis investigates the convergence of Campbell and Chang's sum rules for exclusive spectra. The applicability of this method depends critically on this convergence and it is our intention to test this question in a simple nontrivial model.
