Part I: The decays K -> 2pi and K -> 2 pi gamma; Part II: Relation between vector and axial-vector cabibbo angles in broken SU(3) symmetry","abstract":"Part I We study the decays K+ -> pi+pio and Ko -> 2pi using the algebra of currents, We show that the decay K+ -> pi+pio is not due to the violation of the selection rule AI = 1/2 caused by the electromagnetic mass .difference [equation] as has been conjectured by some authors but has to be aqcounted for by the I = 3/2 part of the weak Hamiltonian. We also look for effects of CP violation in differences of the decay rates [equation] and [equation] in the theory of Nishijima and Swank and find no evidence for these differences using different from zero. Part 2 We calculate the renormalization of the weak axial-vector coupling constant in the decay [equation] on the basis of the assumption that the symmetry breaking is unimportant at nigh energies.
