Three types of the control relation are proposed: Rigid Control, where no lexical NP can occur in place of a pro; Thematic Control, where only coreferential lexical NPs can occur in place of a pro, and Non-rigid Control, where lexical NPs can occur without restriction.","The principle of Argument Inheritance is proposed to account for the coreferentiality of the arguments in the adjunct hay-clauses with those in the matrix clause. The adjunct hay-clauses inherit the argument structures from the matrix clauses.
