It was able to colonize soybean root system and the root zone and survived the winter in the field. This train was antagonistic to a wide range of soil fungal pathogens in culture and reduced the population of R. solani inoculum in the soil and suppressed Rhizoctonia root rot of soybeans in the greenhouse and field. It also enhanced soybean root growth and nodulation by Bradyrhizobium japonicum.
