Regression equations for predicting design temperature distributions through different roof elements were obtained. Two main roof elements were studied: T-beams and solid slabs.","A computer program was developed to conduct the structural analysis for plane frame structures. A method for calculating thermal effects was outlined including the effect of cracking. It was found that the thermal stresses in plane frames are significant. Thermal deflection, on the other hand, was found to be very small.","ABAQUS was used to carry out the structural analysis for slab elements. The thermal stresses were found to be low and the corresponding thermal deflections were very significant.
