These small-scale structures (total height of 7 ft) included three columns and a slender wall.","To make recommendations about the proportioning of slender walls, maximum drifts calculated by nonlinear response-history analysis were compared with maximum drifts calculated by linear response-spectrum analysis. To make recommendations about the design of walls to resist shear, several pragmatic procedures for estimating maximum base-shear response of frame-wall structures were evaluated by comparing estimates with the observed response of test structures.
