Numerous research efforts have sought to compile and analyze records of agricultural-related injuries and fatalities at a national level, utilizing resources ranging from newspaper clippings and hospital records to Emergency Medical System (EMS) data, death certifications, surveys, and other multiple sources. A systematic review on existing surveillance systems in North America has been conducted. However, there remains a data visualization gap in the monitoring and analyzing of agricultural injury data. The existing database in agricultural safety and health are often fragmented, lack user engagement, and do not effectively communicate injury trends. The primary goal of this research is to create an agricultural injury data dashboard that documents farm-related injury databases in Illinois and to evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of the dashboard design. This injury dashboard has been designed based on comprehensive occupational injury codes capable of analyzing major sources of farm-related injuries and injury trends. A survey has been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of the dashboard. The findings contributed to validating and improving a surveillance dashboard.
