As such, it is important that the test section is user friendly. The Saxton-Fox research group has had a functioning wind tunnel, used to study the behavior of turbulent boundary layers in multiple conditions [1]. The test section of this wind tunnel had many benefits, having been designed by a previous student in the research group [2]. However, its maintenance was challenging, and structural challenges led to sagging over multiple years of use. This thesis describes a new test section design that focuses on structural stability, ease of access, and easy and reliable passage of maintenance knowledge.
