The experimental data collected for dropwise condensation in particular, has been very scattered and that has mainly been attributed to the presence of trace amounts of non-condensable gases (NCGs) in the steam. It is the objective of this thesis to develop a standard operating procedure that can easily be implemented in condensation chambers around the world to enable accurate heat transfer measurements. Here the use of a vent as a means to deal with NCGs is explored. Through experimental work, analytical modeling, and CFD simulations new insights are made on the role of the vent. Finally, guidelines are given to help in properly guiding the use of a vent to limit NCG effects without otherwise influencing the heat transfer data collected."]},{"key":"dc:format","label":"Dc Format","values":["application/pdf"]},{"key":"dc:title","label":"Title","values":["A standard operating procedure for accurate condensation heat transfer measurements"]}]}],"canonical_facts":{"dc:contributor":["Miljkovic, Nenad"],"dc:creator":["Arissi, Ghassan"],"dc:date":["2025-05-06","2025-05"],"dc:description":["Submission original under an indefinite embargo labeled 'Open Access'.
