To realize these reported ABC methods benefits, DOT planners need to accurately estimate and compare the cost of alternative bridge construction methods to ensure the selection of the most cost effective method. This presents DOT planners with a major challenge due to the lack of detailed bridge design information that is needed to accurately estimate the construction cost during the early design phase. To support DOT planners in this challenging task, the research objectives of this study focus on (1) conducting a comprehensive literature review on ABC methods, (2) collecting and analyzing a dataset of recently completed ABC projects, and (3) providing insights into the factors affecting cost estimation for ABC bridge projects through statistical and correlation analysis of the collected data. The main contributions of this research include the creation of an extensive dataset from 22 ABC bridge projects and identifying correlations between construction costs and various project variables. Statistical analysis revealed variability in project costs, while correlation analysis highlighted the impact of each factor.
