This project endeavors to develop an assessment tool for EADLs focused on older adults. The primary objective was to identify common EADLs, satisfaction factors, and constraints related to EADLs in this demographic. The methodology involved interviews with four Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and three older adults to validate the content of the assessment, followed by a survey administered to 103 older adult participants. Statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability testing, were conducted. Through the EADL assessment, a diverse range of EADLs was identified, emphasizing the importance of both leisure and paid/unpaid work activities. Satisfaction factors associated with EADLs revealed multidimensional aspects of older adults' contentment, encompassing intrinsic motivation, social interactions, health and fitness, and emotional factors. The exploration of constraints highlighted two main categories: intrapersonal and external constraints, providing insights into constraints and potential areas for societal support. This research underscores the significance of a comprehensive understanding of EADLs in enhancing older adults' quality of life and informing targeted interventions and support mechanisms. The findings provide insights for the development of a comprehensive measure of EADLs."]},{"key":"dc:format","label":"Dc Format","values":["application/pdf"]},{"key":"dc:title","label":"Title","values":["Developing an assessment tool to measure enhanced activities of daily living in older adults"]}]}],"canonical_facts":{"dc:contributor":["Rogers, Wendy A.","Payne, Laura L."],"dc:creator":["Hattakitjamroen, Varitnan"],"dc:date":["2024-05-02","2024-05"],"dc:description":["Submission original under an indefinite embargo labeled 'Open Access'.
