In a system composed of ultracold neutral atoms, long-range interactions can be achieved by exploiting the van der Waals interactions between Rydberg states. However, the lifetime of a Rydberg state is short compared to the motional timescale in an optical lattice. To extend the lifetime of atoms, Rydberg dressing was proposed. In Rydberg dressing, the ground state is off-resonantly coupled to a Rydberg state thereby acquires a small fraction of the Rydberg state. In this work, we propose to realize Rydberg dressed 40K atoms in a 3D optical lattice and observe the effects of Rydberg dressed interactions using microwave spectroscopy. We determined the excitation parameters according to the design goals and predicted the microwaves spectrum in the presence of Rydberg dressed interactions. We also built and characterized a frequency stabilization system for the Rydberg dressing lasers."]},{"key":"dc:format","label":"Dc Format","values":["application/pdf"]},{"key":"dc:title","label":"Title","values":["Towards Rydberg-dressed 40K atoms in a three-dimensional optical lattice"]}]}],"canonical_facts":{"dc:contributor":["DeMarco, Brian","Lorentz, Virginia","Kwiat, Paul","Wagner, Lucas"],"dc:creator":["Tsai, Pei-Wen"],"dc:date":["2022-12","2022-08-15"],"dc:description":["Submission original under an indefinite embargo labeled 'Open Access'.
