To this extent, a thorough analysis via phase resolved discharge patterns, pulse sequence analysis, and trending of discharge parameters through an accelerated aging test are detailed in this thesis. To investigate the impact of low-pressure conditions on aircraft applications, discharge characteristics at pressures of 0.2 atm (cruising altitude), and up to 1 atm are also studied and detailed. The second objective is to investigate the possibility of end-of-life prediction for an electrical insulation system based on partial discharge characteristics. End-of-life prediction fulfills the need for an easily interpretable signal for insulation quality. A barrier to the successful prediction of the remaining lifetime of insulation systems is the statistical nature of the partial discharge phenomenon.
