Therefore, identifying their direct/indirect targets is crucial to study the cellular processes that are altered as a result of microRNA dysregulation. In this thesis, we aim to identify the targets of dysregulated microRNAs in colorectal cancer progression by adapting a network-guided gene set characterization technique in which prior biological knowledge can be utilized to find novel molecular associations.
