A major example is the realization of the smart grid. On the networking side, software-defined networking (SDN) has been trending for the past decade. With the help of SDN, we are moving towards power grids that have both intelligence and security. In this thesis, we focus on providing a versatile SDN infrastructure for power-system applications in the environment of microgrids.
