Abstract
dc:description.abstractOptimum designs of voltage regulating transformers can be achieved only when the designer knows the characteristics of the different design parameters and how they affect the total design. The criteria controlling the design of most voltage regulating transformers are not readily available since this information is usually found in company files or the files of individual design engineers. The criteria used are often based on the experience of these engineers and in many cases have never been verified. This thesis presents some of the common design parameters for voltage regulating transformers and computer generated data showing how the total design is affected by the se parameters. These data are then used to establish some definite and some general design rules for voltage regulating transformers.
