HAMLET : ENTER HERO An Exploration of Archetypal Themes, Images, and Symbols Inherent in Hamlet: Prince of Denmark.

During the past three hundred years William Shakespeare’s Hamlet has been examined by a host of critics. In fact, L. C. Knights, in Some Shakespearean Themes and An Approach To Hamlet, claims that more has been written about Hamlet than about any other of Shakespeare’s plays. The majority of Hamlet criticism is based, although at times loosely, upon the Aristotelian concept of tragedy—that is, the tragic hero harbors a weakness, or "flaw," which destroys him.
