The identification of individual source is one of the main objectives of the forensic serologist when analyzing blood, bloodstains, or other body fluids. Certainly, the more we know about a specific blood sample, the more we can learn about an alleged criminal act. All individuality is due to variations between people or things, and blood is no exception (Sensabaugh, 1982). Numerous enzymes and other proteins occur in various forms in the blood and other body fluids. These different forms of proteins in a population (polymorphism) exhibit demonstrable genetic variation.
