An Analysis of Metaphors Used to Describe the Learning Process.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractMetaphor is often employed in the formulation of new ideas. It is useful as a kind of expansion bridge which stretches between pre-existing concepts and original ideas still in the nebulous stage of formation. This is true when the theorist is creating new systems of thought and it is true when he is attempting to relate these new ways of viewing his subject to an interested audience.
