Church-home relationships in church schools of the Central District of the California-Nevada Conference of the Methodist Church

<p>Noteworthy contributions in the field of church-home cooperation in religious education are seen in the church school curriculum of the Character Research Project at Union College, Schnectady, New York, of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. and of the Episcopal Church. These contributions to the field of church-home relationships are described and analysed in Chapter III.</p><p>This thesis is not concerned with the evaluation of the work being done by these groups; it is concerned with what is being done in the area of church-home relationships within the Methodist Church. Specifically stated, the purpose of the thesis is: (1) to determine whether or not the suggestion for church-home cooperation as made in the Methodist closely-graded materials for the fourth-grade are meeting the need: (1) for cooperation between church and home in the Central District of the California-Nevada Conference; and (2) to show what can happen in a fourth-grade group that attempts to use the suggestions for church-home cooperation found in the Methodist closely-graded materials.</p>
