A first analysis of the problem would seem to indicate that the preparations should be straightforward and not difficult. Bailar (3) stresses the great coordination tendency of the alpha-amino acids. Secondly, Volshtein (37) (38) (39) (40) (41) (41) and others have synthesized a number of platinum (II) complexes of the alpha-amino acids with apparently a minimum of difficulty in a majority of the preparations.
