The sample composed of 136 staff nurses, out of 250 randomly selected from 1042 staff nurses in a general hospital in Taiwan. The MJSAS and SBS-HP in Chinese language were utilized to measure job satisfaction and burnout. Data were analyzed using Pearson r. A negative relationship relationship exists between job satisfaction and burnout (r = -.57, p&lt;.00l) • Results of the study indicated that the less the staff nurses are satisfied with their job, the greater the degree of burnout.
