A convenience sample of primiparous mothers who had vaginal deliveries was used. During the study some mothers received breast-feeding instructions in an individual setting and others in group settings. A questionnaire regarding breast-feeding success was sent to the mothers 3 weeks following delivery. A chi-square analysis was conducted on the resulting data. No significant difference was found in the success rate of breast feeding between mothers who were taught individually or in a group setting.
