Optimal control of a biological waste-water treatment plant
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this paper a mathematical model of a biological waste cleaning plant is created and investigated. The model is described by a nonlinear system of two differential equations with one bounded control. An optimal control problem of minimizing concentration of contaminated water at terminal time T is stated and solved. Optimal solutions are obtained analytically with the use of Pontryagin's Maximum Principle.
