The psychophysical and physiological assessment of cochlear-origin tinnitus

A clinical evaluation protocol of cochlear-origin tinnitus that included psychological and physiological tests was proposed and administered to seven subjects. Among several components of the results, the combination of the Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emission(DPOAE) level, Input/Output slope, and tinnitus handicap questionnaire scores indicated a possible measure of tinnitus severity, and the further statistical data analysis is required to confirm its effectiveness based on more rigorous subject selection
