The criteria employed in differentiating between domestic and public contexts are generally the same as those used in the analysis of households. These include dwellings, outbuildings such as kitchens or storerooms, activity areas, hearths, storage pits, refuse deposits, simple burials of both sexes and all age groups, as well as utilitarian lithic and ceramic artifacts. ... This study employs such criteria as mentioned above in interpreting the function of the five structures found beneath the Main Plaza.
