[poster]","abstract":"Obesity impacts over 300 million children and adolescents globally. Weight loss programs exist but can have many barriers preventing full participation. Telehealth is a widely used tool in western medicine. This literature review examines the efficacy of telehealth when compared to in-person delivery of interventions, hypothesizing telehealth to be equal to in-person visits. This review compared peer-reviewed literature published between 2019 and 2024, in the United States, primary research relating to telehealth in delivering a weight loss program to children. Six studies were included in this review, samples sourced from weight loss programs treating the pediatric population, including 540 total participants. Results found telehealth to have equal or greater reduction in BMI when delivering weight-loss interventions compared to face-to-face visits.
