With this show, I was researching to see if hypothetically, children are exposed to many different body types, identities and colors in an entertaining way would we grow a more accepting generation of people. Media makes a up a large percentage of how we view ourselves and the world around us. The effects of changing that narrative could be very beneficial in not only children viewing the world around them, but also themselves. For some research components, I conducted a poll asking what current Performing Arts students at Texas State would have appreciated to see in the media they were consuming growing up. Through that research I was able to find a lot about what was missing in the media: athletic plus size people, dancers of different gender identities and dancers of all colors.
