This limited stratigraphic interval consists of small-scale upward­ shallowing cycles (PACs) which strongly resemble well­documented ancient and Recent upward-shallowing tidal cycles. PACs of the Olney and Elmwood Members constitute a shallowing PAC sequence which developed as a result of eastward prograd­ation of tidal facies. Within this shallowing PAC sequence, paleoenvironments and paleogeography evolved episodically in response to widespread punctuation events at PAC boundaries.
