An examination of the relationship between marijuana use and anomie in Texas

The purpose of this study was to closely evaluate the relationship between marijuana use and anomie, as measured by the Srole Scale. The sample was randomly drawn from all Texas residents over the age of 17 who held valid drivers licenses. The sample was surveyed concerning the use of alcohol and marijuana as well as attitudes about alcohol and marijuana use, laws, and policies in Texas. The results suggest that there is no relationship between anomie and marijuana use even though other independent variables in the study did show significant associations with marijuana use.
