The purpose of this study was to assess the contribution of school meals to total dietary intake of low income children and to observe whether there are differences by gender, ethnicity, and age. Participants were between the ages of 9 and 12 years old and were children in the after school programs at four different Houston area Boys and Girls Clubs.
