Since children with SLI have no hearing loss, an adaptive computerized program was developed to generate speech from the text entered so as to examine their language accuracy. The application was developed using the Matlab® environment. A child's brain cannot process the rapidly changing audio information within a short period of time and hence a delayed speech will be generated. The delay speed at which a particular child can differentiate words having a similar sound was identified.
