Abstract

dc:description.abstract

In this thesis, forms of time and chronotope in the English Renaissance dramas Gorboduc and King Lear are analyzed. The Tragedie of Gorboduc is discussed as an example of Walter Benjamin's Trauerspiel and as a model of many elements found in Shakespeare's King Lear.
