Preparation of Polymer Composites As Dielectric Materials For Capacitors

<p>Polymer composites with the well-dispersed dielectric ceramic powders as fillers have exhibited enhanced dielectric properties compared to the neat polymers. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) based ferroelectric polymers are mainly used for energy storage. And CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) is still a novel dielectric ceramic oxide with giant dielectric permittivity. This research project combines P(VDF-HFP) and nano CCTO to obtain a novel polymer composite material. It then studies the dielectric properties on this material, and also compare them between P(VDF-HFP) and Polystyrene (PS) composites, in which PS is the benchmark polymer matrix required by Air Force. Surface-modification on CCTO to obtain a uniform PS composite film is also studied in this project, as well as its dielectric permittivity.</p>
