The results from these tests have been interpreted and a set of optimum bath conditions has been decided upon to achieve deposits of a desired composition and properties. Further studies have been carried out to determine the effect of bath composition, anode material and pulse frequency on the composition and structure of the deposits obtained.The deposits produced were analysed chemically by atomic absorption and X-ray fluorescence methods and studied structurally by X-ray diffraction. By application of the experimental data to the optimum plating conditions already specified a rudimentary mass balance for the system has been calculated.
