A phenomenological approach to ‘making ready’ for creative thinking and the potential for insights that can be gained. Gestalt ideas of focused awareness and experimentation were harnessed to achieve these insights. The original creative interpretations were in turn tested on three case study groups,(Design educated / non design educated / general public) using generated pedagogic worksheets designed to facilitate responses to the originals with text and image interpretative responses. The results were critically analysed highlighting archetypal correlations from the drawn reponses and resulting literal and lateral interpretations of the materials.
