The lack of research related to the effects of school closures during the Covid-19 pandemic on social, emotional, and behavioral skills was addressed in this research study through analyzing student discipline referral data from pre-Covid school closures and after schools reopened (Welsh, 2022). During the Covid-19 pandemic, school disruptions likely had an impact on students and the development of their social, emotional, and behavioral skills (Hosszu et al., 2022; Spitzer, 2020).
