A Novel Temperature Control Method for Electrode Type Ohmic Water Heaters
Abstract
dc:description.abstract<p>The purpose of this work is to develop a temperature rise model for an Ohmic type electrode water heater, that regulates temperature by adjusting the electrode separation. The type and amount of dissolved solids and temperature, determine the electrical conductivity of the water, which limits the instantaneous power of Ohmic type heaters. The Ohmic heater prototype tested in this work uses electrode separation to regulate water temperature in solutions where the TDS is between 50 and 400 ppm. To heat water with TDS below 50 ppm, CO2 gas can be mixed with the water.</p>
