<p>This Thesis is a combination research and creative design thesis. It documents the creative process of costume design and how it relates to gender coding for the Prairie Repertory Theatre's 2001 production of Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man. This thesis contains background information on gender coding, a literary review, a script analysis, research, design concepts, designs, a production notebook, and a post-production evaluation. It also includes research images, renderings and production photos in the appendices.</p>
