Chapter 1 presents the ministry context, purpose, and research methodology. Chapter 2 establishes the biblical and theological foundations of text-driven preaching by examining preaching in the Old Testament, the ministry of Jesus, and the preaching of the apostles, demonstrating God’s design for preaching. Chapter 3 argues from historical, systematic, and practical theology that text-driven preaching is essential to the life of the church. Chapter 4 describes the development and implementation of an eight-session training program. Chapter 5 evaluates the project using pre- and post-training surveys. A paired-sample t-test (t(20) = −3.201, p = .0022) indicates a statistically significant improvement in participants’ understanding of text-driven preaching, though increased cognitive understanding did not fully result in corresponding behavioral change.","abstract_html":"This project was designed to equip lay leaders at Gereja Kristen Muria Indonesia Anugerah (GKMIA) Jakarta with a foundational understanding of text-driven preaching.
