Sons of God: The New Covenant Reality Of Adoption In Christ
Abstract
dc:description.abstractAdoption as sons is a new covenant reality that is not fully experienced by Old Testament saints as it is merely foreshadowing what is to come in Christ as the mediator of a new covenant. Covenant theology is evaluated, and a different way forward is presented to show what Old Testament Saints experienced under the old covenant and how it points to the fulfillment in Christ. With this fulfillment, Christians gain the privileges of the true Son, the Lord Jesus, and are adopted as sons enabling them to cry out to the Father as such in a way no one under the old covenant could as the fullness of this reality was yet to come.
