Chapter 2 exegetes five passages of Scripture (Gen 4-11; Acts 5:29; Rom 13:1-7; 1 Pet 3:13-17; 1 Tim 2:1-4) to establish the origins of government, explain God’s purposes for it, and encourage believers to respond biblically. Chapter 3 surveys the history of evangelicals in the political arena, provides a biblical critique, and proposes a philosophy for Christians to engage government. Chapter 4 describes the project itself and the content of the eight-week class.
