Differential Cross Sections for Compton Scattering Off the Proton at 185 MEV

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

A complete angular distribution of Compton scattering off the proton was measured at average laboratory bremsstrahlung energy of 185 MeV. The experiment was per-formed at the Saskatchewan Accelerator Laboratory using the new high duty factor elec-tron beam. The scattered photons were observed with a high resolution, total absorption N ai scintillation detector. The resolution of the detector was sufficient to exclude Π° de-cay photons from the region of interest.
