dc:description.abstractThe aim of this research was to undertake a studyof the preparation and the chemiluminescent reactions of certainbenzofuran-2(3~)-ones. The main aims were to find practicableroutes for the preparation of benzofuran-2(3H)-ones, to definethe conditions required for chemiluminescence, to elucidate thenature of the products from the chemiluminescent reactions, andto propose a mechanism to account for light emission.
