Ejercicio físico como parte de la atención de los pacientes oncológicos paliativos

Abstract

[EN] Exercise improves quality of life of cancer patients. The connection between exercise and improved physical and psychological health has been well demonstrated. The benefit of exercise is not only limited to healthy patients but also to patients with cancer. Physiotherapy intervention in palliative cancer patients, is helpful in controlling symptoms and signs, there is strong evidence that the oncology disease symptoms not only related to the disease but also with the treatment where problems include musculoskeletal, neurological, pain, dyspnea and other symptoms that could benefit from physiotherapy. An important aspect in the realization of this thesis is to report the importance of prescription ejericico in the cancer population and that is sometimes forgotten or deleted mistakenly thinking that exercise is only for healthy people, the goal of exercising is to maintain physical physiological functions and optimize their overall fitness. People with oncological disease should be encouraged movimientnos all involved in carrying out daily living activities such as sitting, walking, climbing stairs, place objects at various altitudes, carrying light loads, walking, etc. In cancer patients with the goals of an exercise program is explicitly geared to facilitate the recovery of cancer by restoring the physical condition, relieving symptoms, assisting people in adapting to a new level of well being and improving the quality of life.
