Abstract
[EN] Background: There are no systematic studies in our country to analyze the health of immigrant children so know the overall health situation in low-income immigrant children, with special emphasis on imported infections is the aim of this thesis. It was made by a general health screening and combining classic parasitological diagnostic tools and new diagnostic techniques and molecular immune. Objectives: 1. Assess the overall health of the population immigrant child seen in consultation for Tropical Medicine, University Hospital of Salamanca. 1.1. Assess nutritional status and dental. 1.2. To study the prevalence and causes of hematological and enzymatic changes frequently. 1.3. Meet childhood vaccination coverage established in the countries of origin. 1.4. Know the requirements to the combined vaccine vacunacionales HBV / HAV as the study population. 2. To evaluate the presence and specific characteristics of imported communicable infections in a group of immigrant children. 2.1. Study the prevalence of latent tuberculosis infection in children using methods Quantiferon TB Gold In Tube ®. 2.2. Studying the prevalence of diseases: syphilis, hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus, human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 and 2 and human immunodeficiency virus. 3. To assess the prevalence of parasitic infection imported in the same population. 3.1. Determine the prevalence of intestinal parasitic diseases by coprology. 3.2. To evaluate the presence of tissue parasitic infections using direct parasitological diagnostic tools, serological and / or molecular. April. To study the frequency and causes of eosinophilia in the study population. 4.1. Quantifying the prevalence and intensity of imported relative and absolute eosinophilia. 4.2. Evaluation of the most frequent causes of eosinophilia imported. 4.3. To determine the predictive values of imported eosinophilia and the presence of increased total IgE as markers of parasitic infection. Design: Prospective observational study of health screening including consecutive cases. Study Subjects: The study population comprised 18 children from low-income countries that were assessed in the query Tropical Diseases and Zoonoses Travel Medicine Endemic Infectious Unit, University Hospital of Salamanca from January 1, 2007 until July 1, 2011. Following the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and the Belmont Report was obtained written informed consent for the study. Phases of the study. 1. Recruitment of subjects included in the different objectives of the study during the period of January 1, 2007 until July 1, 2011. 2. Conducting clinical protocol-analytic assessment of patients during the period of January 1, 2007 until July 1, 2011. 3. Obtaining blood and urine samples for different analyzes. 4.
