Significant improvements in water quality will require efforts to control contaminants at their sources from theses various activities. Automotive repair businesses are seen as a sector that handles large volumes of products that can be washed into storm drains. The purpose of the study was to learn this sector's needs in adopting storm drain best management practices. Semi-structured in-person interviews were conducted with business owners to identify barriers, challenges and opportunities to adopting storm drain best management practices. The results show that auto repair businesses were generally receptive to improving practices but indicate that certain barriers need to be addressed in order to have more widespread acceptance and adoption.
