These were compared with results after TAVR using transfemoral access as first choice. Both strategies offer comparable results. Furthermore, implantation of an at the time new device using transaxiilary vascular access was shown to be safe and effective. After implantation of a new TAVR valve, the degree of paravalvular leakage as well as mortality can be adequately predicted by using invasive pressure measurements available during the procedure. Pre-operative screening of patients can predict postoperative outcomes. Earlier delirium is the strongest predictor for post-operative delirium, which in itself is a strong predictor of short- and longterm mortality. Likewise, impaired mobility pre TAVR predicts worse outcomes.","Radboud University, 11 april 2025","Promotores : Royen, N. van, Morshuis, W.J.
