Abstract
dc:description.abstractScholars who are interested in banking regulation represent an array of disciplines. Unfortunately, the multidisciplinary nature of the field has led to a segregated and somewhat siloed analysis of financial instability. Legal analysis and empirical financial research rarely ever cross paths. Furthermore, policy analysts largely do not interact with either the legal or financial research and vice versa. Therefore, to overcome these disciplinary and institutional boundaries, this thesis takes a cross-disciplinary approach to evaluate macroprudential policy implementation in the EU. This approach incorporates legal, financial and policy research streams that oftentimes fail to talk to one another.
