Modeling and Analysis of Multilayer Complex Distribution System: A Multi-Agent Simulation for Decision Making
Abstract
dc:descriptionIn the context of emerging distribution system with large penetration of distributed generation and storage from prosumers, we consider the distribution system as a multi-layers interacting complex system. The complexity of the system, characterized by several interacting layers fit in the context of physical (network), cyber, social and natural environment, cannot be captured by closed form mathematical models and new approaches derived from complex sciences, as Multi Agent Simulation (MAS), will be employed for developing proper tools. Based on MAS, where individual arbitrariness and realities can be represented almost as in detail as designers want, complex decision making problems encountered in the emerging distribution system can be implemented, learned, and evaluated through predesigned MAS models; evolutions of complex multilayer system and interactions inside can be captured with utmost concretes. Future projections such as emerging distribution system can be simulated ex-ante; perplexities that may arouse can be diagnosed and even resolved in advance.
